It can be difficult to find the right mobile operator when you just moved to Sweden. There are a lot of different options on the market and all of them offer different packages and rates. We have listed the well-known Swedish operators: Telenor, Hallon and Tre. By comparing these 3 operators and researching more about others you may choose the most relevant for you.
Before ordering find out if you need a normal SIM card or a nano-SIM card. It is advisable to buy your subscription online – this is often cheaper. Keep your proof of identity and bank account details at hand during the signup process.
Telenor
Telenor Group is an international provider of tele, data and media communication services. In order to buy a phone number, you need to create an account and/or log in. Then you can also:

Hallon
Hallon is one of the most used mobile operators in Sweden. They offer cheap and simple mobile contracts. Hallon enables you to make relatively cheap international calls which is important for most ex-pats. They also offer prepaid cards if you are not sure how long you want to stay in Sweden. Be aware that prepaid cards are more expensive than a mobile subscription in long term.
Please be informed that in order to be registered you need to write your social security number and email address. Afterwards, you can choose your phone number from the given list. Please be also informed that you may use someone’s social security number to buy a phone number under your name.

Delivery of sim card takes place to your address within 1-2 working days. The subscription includes calls, SMS and MMS within the EU / EEA.
If you still have an unused part of your internet subscription for a month, this part of the subscription will remain in your balance for the next month. For example, this month you have taken a 4 GB internet surfing package and used only 3 GB for a whole month. The next month, when your package is updated by 4 GB, then in total you will have 5 GB in your balance since you have an unused 1 GB from last month.

Tre.se
Tre is another mobile operator that offers excellent network coverage everywhere in Sweden. It is quite convenient to order a Tre.se subscription online. The delivery is free of charge.
The subscription includes calls, SMS and MMS within the EU / EEA (but not traffic from Sweden to abroad, as well as payment and satellite calls / SMS). The EU and ESS countries included 5 GB per month, these will be deducted from your total amount of surf. If the use exceeds the included amount of data, the subscription for data traffic is blocked. Then more data can be purchased as needed. At the turn of the next month, it will automatically be full speed again. SEK 49 / month for paper invoices.
