BTH scholarship programme

BTH scholarship programme for prospective students is available for citizens from non-EU/EEA countries who are required to pay tuition fees for Swedish university education. Applicants to distance education at BTH are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

This scholarship programme offers scholarships covering tuition fees in part. The level of tuition fee reduction is normally 50%. No more than one scholarship from this programme can be awarded for one person. The scholarships are granted on the basis of academic excellence. Priority is given to applicants with the BTH study programme as their first choice.

How to apply

You apply for a BTH scholarship after you have applied for a BTH campus based programme or single subject course on Universityadmissions.se.

The application  will only be considered if you are a tuition fee paying student and the application fee has been paid. If you are a tuition fee paying student exempted from paying the application fee, your scholarship application will also be considered.

Reply to your offer

If you are awarded a BTH scholarship it is important that you reply to the offer on time, or you will lose the scholarship. You do also need to pay the remainder of the tuition fee no later than the deadline that can be found in your BTH tuition fee account in order to keep your scholarship.

Dalarna University scholarships

Dalarna University scholarships scholarships go directly towards a reduction in your tuition fees and will cover between 10 and 50 percent of your total tuition fees. The amount that you are awarded is automatically deducted in set amounts each semester over the duration of your programme. 

Tuition fee waivers are only available for studying a Master’s degree programme which is offered on-campus. You only need to apply once for your scholarship and this you do before the start of your programme. The application period for a scholarship for the Spring 2022 intake is September 1st to September 30th, 2021. Applications for scholarships for the autumn 2022 intake will be open from January 1st to March 25th.

 

Students interested in the Master’s Programme in Solar Energy Engineering who are citizens of developing countries may qualify for a scholarship offered by the Global Sustainable Electricty Project.

Halmstad University scholarships

When admitted to Master’s programme studies at Halmstad University you have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship which is offered by Halmstad University.

Each year Halmstad University offers a number of scholarships to students from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland with the requirement to pay tuition fee. These scholarships may be granted to students within any field of study applying to our Master’s programmes at Halmstad University.

The Halmstad University Scholarship covers 25% or 50% of the tuition fee and will be deducted from the tuition fee. The scholarship will not cover living costs and there are no grants for family members.

Jönköping University

Students admitted to JU bachelor or master programmes have the opportunity to obtain a scholarship and/or financial support. Below you can find useful information about the different options according to the country you come from and programme level.

Jönköping University offers scholarships on behalf of the Swedish government. The scholarships, intended for students who pay tuition fees, will cover a percentage of the fee for the duration of the programme. The scholarship application is open until 15 April. Read More and Apply

Sustainability Scholarship is open to applicants from anywhere in the world who want to study a master’s program that is helping make the world more sustainable. KTH University

KTH offers four different scholarship opportunities for master’s studies. The KTH Scholarship covers the tuition fee of a one or two year master’s programme. The KTH One-Year Scholarship is aimed at current KTH master’s programme students and covers the tuition fee of the second year of studies. The KTH Joint Programme Scholarship is aimed at students in certain joint programmes and covers the tuition fee for the study period spent at KTH.

The Karolinska Institutet

There are many Swedish, European and international foundations that award scholarships and grants. The rules for different scholarships and grants can vary – some are intended to help meet living costs, others fund tuition fees (for non EU/EEA citizens) and still others can be used for various educational costs. Karolinska Institutet offers a handful of tuition fee scholarships to excellent students who have been admitted to one of our Global Master’s Programmes starting each Autumn semester. The amount of scholarships varies from year to year, but there are maximum 10 scholarships per year, spread to all the Global Master’s Programmes. The competition is fierce with approximately 1500 international students applying for the scholarship annually.

Kristianstad University

The scholarship will be awarded to citizens of a country outside the EU/EEA with the requirement of paying tuition fee for studies at Kristianstad University. If granted a scholarship, it will include a full or partial reduction of the tuition fee. Keep in mind that these scholarships do not cover your living costs.

Selection process

The Kristianstad University Scholarship is merit based. The assessment of scholarship applications is made on the basis of the merits and documents sent to Universityadmissions.se when applying for a programme.

Merits and documents registered after the 1 February will not be taken into consideration when applying for autumn semester.

You are not eligible for a Kristianstad University Scholarship if you have not paid the application fee to Universityadmissons.se for the programme you wish to study. 

Priority will be given to students who:

  • applied in the first instance to Kristianstad University and on time in accordance with the national admission round
  • have Kristianstad University as their first choice
  • have studied at Bachelor’s level at Kristianstad University and are applying for Master programmes
  • have excellent study merits and good proficiency in English
  • Applications that are not filled in correctly will not be taken into consideration.

Linnaeus University

The scholarship covers 75 percent of the tuition fee, please see details regarding the application below. There are no scholarships available for the spring semester. Next application round will open in February, 2022 for students that will commence their studies at Linnaeus University during autumn 2022. 

There are a number of scholarships available, each providing up to a 75 percent tuition fee waiver for the full programme. The scholarships will initially be granted for one semester, but will automatically be extended for the duration of the study program (2 up to 4 semesters), provided that study results are satisfactory.

You are eligible to apply if you: 

  • are from a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland
  • have applied for a master programme at Linnaeus University via www.universityadmissions.se, before January 15 AND have sent/ uploaded all required documents before February 1.
  • have chosen Linnaeus University as their first choice on their application on www.universityadmissions.se
  • pay the application fee to www.universityadmissions.se before February 1.
  • have filled out the application form before the deadline of the application. 

 

Based on which criteria will Linnaeus University select the students who will be awarded scholarships?

Linnaeus University’s decision to award scholarships will primarily be based on the students’ academic merits. Usually this is based on the CGPA, but the ranking of the previous university and the students’ proficiency in English will also be considered. Linnaeus University also favors an even distribution of students when it comes to country of origin and gender.

Who funds the scholarships?

Linnaeus University receives funding from a fund powered by the Swedish government.

Linköping University

The LiU International Scholarship is aimed at supporting international master’s degree students with significant academic potential who are required to pay tuition fees. The tuition fees for a student awarded a LiU International Scholarship are reduced by 25, 50, or 75%. We offer a limited number of these scholarships to new students. 

Am I eligible to apply?

Students who have applied for a master’s programme at Linköping University and who meet all the following conditions are eligible to apply for a scholarship:

  • you applied by the deadline for the first admission round  
  • you submitted all the required documents by the deadline 
  • you chose a master’s programme at Linköping University as your first priority (ranked as number 1 of 4)
  • you have been admitted to your first choice in the First Notification of Selection Results (usually early April)
  • you are required to pay tuition fees.

Lund University Global Scholarship

The Lund University Global Scholarship is an academic excellence award targeting top students from all countries outside the EU/EEA. The Söderberg Scholarship is an academic excellence award that targets top students who are applying for the Master’s Programme in Management. Two full scholarships are available.

Malmö University

Each year, Malmö University offers a limited number of scholarships to qualified master students from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland who are required to pay tuition fees. These scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit, experience and motivation. They cover partial or up to the full tuition fee but do not cover other expenses, such as living expenses.  

Students admitted to two-year programmes retain the scholarship for the second year if they successfully complete the first year of study and meet the progression criteria (minimum 22.5 credits a semester, minimum 45 credits an academic year).

The scholarship application round for the academic year 2022 will open in April 2022.

Who can apply?

You are eligible for the Malmö University Master’s Scholarship if you are:

  • required to pay tuition fees for university studies in Sweden; and
  • admitted to an English-taught master’s programme at Malmö University.

Please note: only applicants who have chosen Malmö University as their first choice on University Admissions will be considered.

Application process

To apply for the scholarship, follow these steps: 

  • Apply for one of our master’s programmes through University Admissions as your first priority. Make sure to pay the application fee to University Admissions.
  • Admitted students will receive more information on how to apply for the scholarship after Notification of Selection Results.
  • Scholarship selection will be based on previous academic excellence, the experience described in your CV, and your ability to motivate social engagement through your chosen programme at Malmö University. 
  • Applicants who have been offered a scholarship will be notified by mid-May. Those who are not offered a scholarship will not be notified individually.
