In order to celebrate Nobel Day on December 10, 2023, we organized an excursion to the House Museum of the Nobel Brothers (Villa Petrolea) located in Baku.
December 10 – in addition to Alfred Nobel’s memorial day, it is also the day of the presentation ceremony of “Nobel” laureates. On this date in 1901, the first “Nobel” prizes were presented in the fields of physics, chemistry, medicine and literature by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences located in Stockholm.
As we know, in the 19th and 20th centuries, the Nobel brothers also had a great impact on the development of the oil industry in Azerbaijan. On the occasion of Alfred Nobel’s memorial day, visiting the museum where he had residences in Baku, our young people got interesting information about the oil tycoons of that time, their lifestyles and felt the unusual atmosphere of the museum.
