On December 14, 2023, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden in the Republic of Azerbaijan organized an event to traditionally celebrate Saint Lucia Day.
Before the change to the Gregorian calendar, December 13 was known as the longest night of the year in Scandinavian history. That day, as an important part of Christmas, is traditionally celebrated every year with thousands of candlelights on holidays and celebrations such as December 13 – St. Lucia’s Day.
Representatives of our organization were among the 80 participants invited to the event. The holiday celebration was mysteriously performed by the students of the Vocal Music School named after Fidan Hajiyeva and the children of the Swedish community in Azerbaijan.
We express our gratitude to Mr. Tobias Lorentzson, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Azerbaijan, for the organization of the event and the invitation!
